I was born in Taiwan and immigrated to California when I was 12 years old. After living in California for 16 years, I decided to move to New York to 'check it out' and never thought I would settle on the East Coast. Since I was a child, I have enjoyed helping disadvantaged students, which led me to pursue a career in social work. Beyond my professional focus, I enjoy writing, photography, and traveling - hobbies that not only help me unwind but also deepen my ability to reflect, inspire, and motivate both myself and others in my personal and professional life.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine in 2006, followed by a Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California in 2009, and a Master of Social Work from New York University in 2014.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals of all ages - from children and adolescents to adults - across diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am passionate about providing therapy in various formats, including individual, couples, and group sessions, as each setting offers unique opportunities for self-discovery and connection.
My specialties include working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, identity issues, and trauma. I also enjoy supporting those seeking personal growth, general guidance, or coaching to achieve their self-defined goals.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist in community clinics, hospital outpatient programs, and college counseling centers, I have been dedicated to serving survivors of human trafficking since 2010. My work focuses on supporting foreign national massage workers in illicit massage parlors, advocating for their rights, and amplifying their voices within this often overlooked and vulnerable community. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Coalition Against Human Trafficking (NCCAHT) and on the advisory board for UCA WAVES.

This personal experience deeply influences my work and fuels my commitment to providing culturally responsive, inclusive care.

I grew up bouncing between California and Taiwan, and as the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, this experience shaped my understanding of emotional complexity, cultural identity, and the many ways we learn to adapt. Having lived between cultures, I'm attuned to the feeling of being caught between worlds and care deeply about helping others find clarity and rootedness. I'm passionate about psychology and mental health, and I find it deeply meaningful to support clients as they build self-awareness, uncover their strengths, and move toward more fulfilling lives. Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading fiction, taking long walks, and spending quiet mornings in cafés. I strive to offer a therapeutic space that is both grounding and empowering.

In my personal time, I enjoy hitting the gym, playing badminton, and going to workout classes with friends. Staying active keeps me grounded and supports my health - both physically and mentally!
